If you don’t bet on the horses, Churchill Downs also has a three 50/50 raffles for you Kentucky Derby week! Churchill Downs Incorporated Foundation announced three separate on-site 50/50 Charitable Gaming Raffles during Derby week, one on each of Thurby, Oaks and Derby days. For each raffle, participants will have the chance to win half the raffle proceeds. The other half of the raffle proceeds will go to Churchill Downs Incorporated Foundation to support its charitable initiatives, including Thoroughbred retirement, educational opportunities for backside employees and breast and ovarian cancer research and prevention.

Through the Churchill Downs Incorporated Foundation 50/50 Charitable Gaming Raffles, one lucky participant may walk away a big winner each day at Thurby, Oaks and Derby. On-site participants can purchase raffle tickets for the 50/50 drawings at any manned mutuel window or self service terminal at Churchill Downs Racetrack for a chance to win half of the raffle proceeds each day. The other half will support community initiatives through the Churchill Downs Incorporated Foundation, including thoroughbred retirement programs, educational opportunities for backside employees, and contributions to the research and prevention of breast & ovarian cancer.

Tickets are $5.00 for each entry for each day’s raffle can be purchased at any open mutuel window or self service terminal at Churchill Downs Racetrack from the time that the pari-mutuel windows and self service terminals open until 4:00pm EDT on each of Thurby (May 5th), 2016 Kentucky Oaks (May 6th) and 2016 Kentucky Derby (May 7th) days. Valid entries require a printed raffle ticket. No online account based entries will be permitted.

At approximately 5:00pm EDT on Thurby and Derby days and 4:40pm EDT on Oaks day, four raffle tickets will be publicly drawn from the raffle tickets sold for that day. The numbers of the four drawn raffle tickets will be displayed in the order that they were drawn (1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th) each day on the Big Board, various monitors throughout Churchill Downs Racetrack, on kentuckyderby.com/5050 and at exit points for Gates 1, 3, 5, 10 and 17 at Churchill Downs Racetrack.

The participant with the earliest drawn raffle ticket for that day who presents their ticket, in person, to a designated raffle location at any of Gate 1, 3, 5, 10 or 17 at Churchill Downs Racetrack by 8:30pm EDT that evening will be awarded that day’s prize. If you have one of the current day’s four drawn raffle ticket numbers, bring your raffle ticket to the designated raffle location at any of gate 1, 3, 5, 10 or 17 by 8:30 pm EDT to see if you have won.

Holders of drawn raffle tickets who do not win the prize but present themselves by 8:30pm EDT are eligible for a consolation gift. If no holders of the four drawn raffle tickets claim the prize each day, then that day’s prize amount will be awarded to a selected charity.
